At the Law Faculty an forensic laboratory has been established, which is an educational and methodological subdivision of the Law Faculty of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
2021-2022y. to ensure the conduct of practical training and research at the moment, the faculty has the following teaching and laboratory equipment and materials:
- automated information retrieval systems "AFIS" (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) and "ABIS" (Automated Ballistic Identification System) - Papilon, intended for practical, research and laboratory work on forensic science and forensic examination;
- an information technology software complex for preparing expert opinions “RASTER”, intended for informational and practical support of tasks performed by students during laboratory and practical classes;
- technical complex "SONDA", designed to obtain information about the structural features of the papillary patterns of the fingers;
- as well as the required number of other systems, specialized devices, devices and tools which intended for practical and research support of law students at practical, laboratory classes and seminars.
These complexes are interesting not only for students and undergraduates, but also for practitioners of law enforcement agencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and employees of the Forensic Examination Center of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with whom relevant research research agreements are concluded. The main task of the forensic laboratory is the acquisition by students of practical skills in solving crimes, detecting traces of criminal activity provided for by the IEP and the RUE in the disciplines "Criminal Law", "Criminal Procedure Law", "Criminalistics", "Criminal Procedure", "Crime Prevention", “Qualification of crimes”, “Judicial expertology”, etc. At the moment, measures are being taken to complete the implementation of the specialty “Forensic examination” by the level of magistracy. In this regard, it is necessary to equip the scientific and methodological training complex with the latest forensic technology and software that allows the use of advanced technologies in the preparation and training of students, undergraduates and doctoral students, as well as the necessary number of classrooms, research laboratories and forensic testing grounds.
The main activities of the laboratory related to the technical, organizational, tactical and methodical bases of crime investigation are:
- development of graduates strong practical skills in working with traces (their detection, fixation, study, preliminary study, evaluation and use in the investigation, detection and prevention of crimes);
- carrying out investigative actions, putting forward versions, drawing up plans of investigation of separate categories of crimes, i.e. all complex of professional knowledge which the young specialist has to possess and which allow it to join quickly in the technological process connected with investigation, disclosure and prevention of crimes;
- organization of classes for students to master the skills of working with new forensic tools, including information retrieval systems, software for the preparation of photographic work and automated workplaces investigator, criminalist, expert;
- implementation of organizational and methodological work on the study of positive experience in law enforcement, the results of which are used by graduates in writing theses.
Material and technical base: The Scientific Library of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is one of the main educational resources for students in the Education Program of the Faculty of Law.
The general fund of the scientific library, which is used by students of the Educational Program of the Faculty of Law, is more than 1.5 million copies (146 8 titles) of books.
The scientific library has access to the databases "POLPREDCOM", "KnigaFund", "RSL", "East-View", "EBSCO", "PressReader", "EuromonitorInternational" and provided by the National Center for Scientific and Technical Information (NCNTI) under the national license RK ThomsonReuters, Elsevier, Springerlink and others.
In the educational building No. 1 (UAC), where the Education Program of the Faculty of Law is taught, there are conditions for training students with disabilities and disabled people (there is a ramp at the entrance, and there is an elevator with access to all floors of the educational building).
Within the framework of the Student's social support program, the medical center, a student cinema (in student's house No. 5), sports sections (football, volleyball) operate.
Students and teachers have access to the English-language, multidisciplinary database of American spaces eLibrary USA. About 30 resources are collected in this electronic resource. Especially popular are Academic OneFile, GREENR, JSOR, ProQuest, ebrary, which offer scientific articles, books and sites in different branches of science (anthropology, business and economics, computer technology and IT, education, engineering and technology, history, languages, linguistics , law, psychology, religion, social sciences, physics, biology and biotechnology). Also in the eLibrary are collected materials for teaching and learning, who study or teach the disciplines of the Educational Program of the Faculty of Law in English, resources on the methodology of teaching the disciplines of the Educational Program of the Faculty of Law, ready-made plans and projects.
On the chair there is a corresponding office equipment: computers, printers, scanners, projectors, telephone sets, necessary furniture.
There is an electronic database of regulatory and legal acts of the Paragraph information system, which is constantly updated, as the regulatory and legal documents are adopted, as well as the global Internet. Student: Students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines have access to this information system as necessary.
Actually teachers for the slide show and various multimedia presentations use the projector 3D Optoma Focus and Lenova laptop in the educational process.
The teaching premises of the Department of Criminal Legal Disciplines are equipped with modern educational furniture, computer equipment, traditional and multimedia boards, stands, laboratory equipment, visual stands, sports equipment. Conclusions of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Service and the Fire Service are available.
Also, at the Faculty of Law there are specialized registered rooms:
1) "Cabinet Hall of Court Sessions", classroom 214;
2) "Expert Forensic Laboratory", Auditorium 337 (Order on approving the designation of the University's laboratories of January 20, 2017 No. 36-p), there is a passport of laboratories;
3) "The Cabinet of Criminalistics", classroom 322, where lectures and seminars are held;
4) "Criminalistic range - Office office", classroom 223.
In general, the training area used by the department at the Faculty of Law in the process of training students, undergraduates, doctoral students in the specialty "Jurisprudence", fully corresponds to the sanitary and fire regulations, normative indicators established by the State Educational Establishment "Educational and material assets of higher educational institutions". Each laboratory is provided with a passport, which indicates the purpose and equipment, individual and fire protection equipment, computer equipment, stands, preparatory, etc.
In general, the design and organization of the laboratories meet the requirements of the State Educational Establishment "Educational and scientific laboratories of universities".
