On 9 July 2019, the Eurasian Human Rights Center, with the support of the Center for Supporting Civil Initiatives and the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a seminar on the topic: “Enhancing NGO Interaction with Government Agencies on the Protection of Citizens' Rights”.
The aim of the seminar is to increase the legal literacy of socially vulnerable groups of the population, government officials and other stakeholders.
Experts: Doctor of Law, Professor, President of the Private Foundation “Eurasian Human Rights Center” Nurgaliyeva Enlik Nurgalievna, and Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Consultant to the Private Foundation “Eurasian Human Rights Center” Omarova E.B.
The seminar reviewed the achievements of Kazakhstan in the social sphere over the years of independence under the leadership of Elbasy - N.A. Nazarbayev, an explanation of the legislation governing state assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population, as well as legislation on the size of social benefits from April 1, 2019. The workshop was held with the assistance of the Akimat of Aksu-Ayuly, Shetsky District, represented by Akim Arystanbekov Baglan Meyramovich, Director of Foundation “Aktileu” Akhmetova Kulshary Kamiyevna, who also explained to the participants the current legislation and the procedure for rendering assistance from the state to socially vulnerable people.
After the speeches, individual legal assistance was provided for socially vulnerable segments of the region’s population, employees of MSE "Center for Employment of Population".

The faculty of law regularly hosts international and republican events.
It has become a good tradition to hold the annual scientific-practical conference devoted to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan in August and the international scientific-practical conference of students and young scientists "Science and Education", held in the framework of the Decade of Science in April.
Brief report on the international scientific-practical conference at the L. N. Gumilyov ENU "Legal system and modern state: problems, trends and prospects of development", dedicated to the 20 th anniversary of the faculty of Law, held on may 17, 2019 in Nur-Sultan.
May 17, 2019 in the Eurasian L.N. Gumilev ENU in Nur-Sultan an international scientific-practical conference "The legal system and the modern state: problems, trends and prospects for development" was held, dedicated to the 20 th anniversary of the law faculty.
Representatives of state bodies made welcoming addresses in honor of the anniversary of the faculty : the constitutional Council of Kazakhstan, the administration of the President of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General's office of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Federation of trade unions of Kazakhstan, the Academy of justice at the Supreme court, leading legal scholars of foreign and Kazakh universities.
The anniversary almanac dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the law faculty was presented at the conference, which reflected the formation and development of the educational process and legal science, as well as the achievements of students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the faculty.
The conference discussed topical issues of formation of the legal system of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, trends in the development of the modern state and law. More than 30 foreign scientists from different countries, both far and near abroad, took part in the discussions. In general, more than 150 scientists from both the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries took part in the work of the four sections of the conference.
Following the conference, recommendations were adopted that will be sent to the state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

International Conference "The Constitution: the embodiment of the values of the rule of law, civil society and the modern state"
August 29, 2018 at the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov hosted an international scientific-practical conference "The Constitution: the embodiment of the values of the rule of law, civil society and the modern state", dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference was attended by representatives of government agencies, ministries, departments, foreign diplomatic missions, famous scientists, government and public figures of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, representatives of public associations.
The main purpose of the event is to discuss topical issues of the constitutional development of Kazakhstan, to talk about the role of the Constitution as one of the most important tools for the country's sustainable development, the embodiment of the values of the rule of law, civil society and the modern state.
The conference was held in several directions: the embodiment of the rule of law and the development of civil society in the values of the modern state; constitutional and legal foundations of civil law relations in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution; the embodiment of the rule of law in the criminal policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan; international legal regulation of the implementation of the rule of law and civil society.

On May 25, 2018, an international scientific-practical conference “Actual problems of further development of legislation in the light of the implementation of the constitutional principles of criminal justice” was held at the law faculty of the Eurasian National University, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the doctor of legal sciences, professor K.Zh. Baltabaeva.
The purpose of the conference organized by the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ENU. L.N. Gumilyov - discussion of topical issues of criminal, criminal procedure, criminal executive, administrative legislation and criminal justice, further improvement of legislation and preparation of scientific recommendations in the framework of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “New development opportunities in the fourth industrial revolution”.

Conference "The Role of Government Agencies in Enhancing the Efficiency of Interaction with Human Rights NGOs"
November 10, 2017 the Foundation "Eurasian Human Rights Center" in conjunction with the Faculty of Law of the ENU. L.N. With the support of the Center for Civil Initiatives Support and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a conference was held on the theme “The role of state bodies in enhancing the effectiveness of interaction with human rights NGOs”. The aim of the conference is to train Kazakhstani NGOs in effective methods and forms of interaction with government bodies.
Tasks:
- consolidation of NGOs to work together with public authorities in the public interest;
- increase of social activity and responsibility of NGOs;
- instilling social partnership skills;
- development of civil lobbyism.
The conference was attended by representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken", NAO "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives", non-governmental organizations, faculty members of metropolitan universities, as well as students, undergraduates and doctoral students of LN Gumilyov ENU .
The conference addressed the following issues:
- The interaction of prosecutors and NGOs to protect the rights of citizens of Kazakhstan;
- consideration by the Business Ombudsman of NGO appeals on the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs;
- problematic issues of interaction of NGOs with government agencies to protect the rights of citizens;
- The practice of interaction of NGOs with government agencies on the protection of the rights of citizens;
- the work of the legal clinic of ENU named after L.N. Gumilev to protect the rights of citizens.
The conference presented a handbook on “Improving the efficiency of interaction of state bodies with human rights non-governmental organizations” and a brochure revealing a comparative legal review on the interaction of state bodies with non-governmental organizations in some countries.
