1. History of the creation and development of the faculty
The history of the existence of the Faculty of Law begins in September 1997 ENU after L.N. Gumilev began teaching students "Jurisprudence" on the basis of the historical faculty. At that time the Dean of the Faculty of History, under whose leadership the first set of applicants for the legal profession was being produced, Doctor of Historical Science, Professor K.A. Akhmetov. Then, in 1998, an independent law faculty was created. During 18 years of existence of the Faculty of Law, its leaders were well-known academic lawyers and public figures: A.M. Nurmagambetov, Zh. Utenov, E.Zh. Shalbayev., K.Zh. Baltabaev, GB Ispayeva, SM Omirbaev, M.A. Sarsembayev, E.B. Abdrasulov, Zh.I. Ibragimov, Zh.D. Busurmanov. Sh.V. Tlepina, Karzhabaev EK, EAOngbarbaev, SK Amandykova.
On June 11, 2019, Doctor of Law, Professor Zh.I. Ibrahimov was appointed Dean. The development of the faculty of law in accordance with new trends is associated with the activities of Professor J. Ibrahimov. This is a prominent legal scholar, a teacher at your high school with many years of experience, holder of the title "Best University Teacher-2017", who contributed to the development of science, Doctor of Law, Professor Zhamaladen Ibrahimov.
He is currently a member of the Coordinating Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputy chairman of the Public Council for Combating Corruption at the branch of the Nur Otan party in Nur-Sultan.
He is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Vestnik of LN Gumilyov ENU. Seriya Pravo, deputy editor-in-chief of the journal Russian-Asian Law Journal (Russia), member of the Academic Council of LN Gumilyov ENU.
Has state and departmental awards. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded a jubilee medal dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2005)
He was awarded a diploma by the chairman of the Nur-Otan party for his active work in realizing the goals and objectives of the Nur-Otan party (2005).
For a special contribution to the spiritual and social development and prosperity of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was awarded an honorary diploma of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2006)

The development of the law faculty in accordance with the latest trends I. Closely related to the activities of Ibragimov. For the first time in the history of the faculty, a forensic training ground was opened on the basis of the police department in Nur Sultan. Ibragimov Yu. I. initiated the opening of branches of the faculty departments. So, in the academic year 2019-2020, the police department in Nur-Sultan, judicial administrators in Nur-Sultan, as well as branches of departments of the Republican Center for Judicial Studies were opened.
The faculty attaches great importance to the promotion of an anti-corruption culture and rationality. This year, the Regional Anti-Corruption Center was organized at the faculty. The center sees its activities in promoting an anti-corruption culture and academic integrity. The organizers and first participants of the Hub were law students, and then students of other faculties and universities. As participants, Sh. Kokshetau State University named after Valikhanov A. Karaganda State University joined. Buketova, Tyumen State University (Tyumen. Russia), Tajik State University (Dushanbe), Balasagin National University (Bishkek). University of Wroclaw (Poland), Warsaw University (Poland), RUDN University (Moscow), Suleiman Demerel University (Turkey).
One of the main tasks of the faculty is the training of scientific personnel. To this end, in 2019, the dissertation council on the defense of candidate dissertations was opened and operates in an updated format.
The present of the Faculty of Law is connected with the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan “Constructive Public Dialogue-the Basis of Kazakhstan Stability and Prosperity”, the Concept of the Legal Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period from 2010 to 2020, the State Program for the Development of Education and Science RK for 2020-2025. The mission of the university and faculty focuses on achieving the goals and objectives in the development of legal education and science.
