Scholar-lawyers of Gumilyov ENU call for being conferred such awards as “A Hero of the People”, “A Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan” to the first Kazakh academician-lawyer Salyq Zimanovich Zimanov who made a huge scientific and socio-political contribution to the development of Kazakhstani statehood. S.Z. Zimanov (1921-2011) - a public figure who defended freedom and independence of the country, cultural identity of the Kazakh people, he was a talented teacher and organizer of a higher school in Kazakhstan, who proved himself to be a skillful chief of staff of a division during the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War and medals.
