On 29.09.2021, a meeting of the regional working group on rehabilitation of victims of Stalinist repressions was held: on the topic "On the exchange of experience in collecting materials on the victims of intensified collectivization, procurement and other political campaigns of the Bolshevik-Stalinist regime against the peasants".
With the active support of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Academician E.B. Sydykov, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor B.M. Smatlaev, the University sent the head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional Law, PhD, Associate Professor I.S. Saktaganova, PhD, Associate Professor K.S. Abdilov, PhD, Associate Professor L.A. Temirzhanova to the regional working group on the rehabilitation of victims of Stalinist repression. During the meeting, issues of the current activities of the regional commission and its working groups formed in five areas, which included historians, lawyers, archivists and local historians, were discussed.
It was noted at the meeting that the primary task of the working groups is to identify repressed citizens who have not been rehabilitated. Based on the results of the research work, the conclusions of the members of the working groups will be submitted to the State Commission for consideration.
Following the meeting, the chairman of the commission gave a number of instructions aimed at improving the activities of departmental and state archives, creating favorable conditions for the work of scientists and researchers in the archives.
On November 24, 2020, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree "On the State Commission for the Full Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression". The main task of the commission is the full legal and political rehabilitation of victims of political repression.
