On April 7, 2023, students and faculty of the Faculty of Law of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where an interactive lecture on its activities was held for them.
This event was made possible thanks to the memorandum of mutual cooperation signed in February between the Constitutional Court and the L.N. Gumilev ENU.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court Elvira Azimova, Deputy of the Constitutional Court Bakyt Nurmukhanov took part in the event as speakers. The main lecturer was a judge of the Constitutional Court, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the Faculty of Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, legal scholar Yerkin Ongarbayev.
Yerkin Anuarovich in his lecture told the students of the University about the development of constitutional justice in Kazakhstan, the history of the formation of the constitutional control body, as well as about the mechanisms of work and the role of the Constitutional Court in ensuring the rule of law throughout the republic.
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court E.A. Azimova thanked the Rector of the University E.B. Sydykov for his contribution to the replenishment of the book fund of the Constitutional Court. The event demonstrated the importance of cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the country's universities in the training and formation of highly qualified personnel in the field of law.
On the part of the ENU Faculty of Law, Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Law, Professor Smatlaev Baurzhan, Head of the Department of International Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Tlepina Sholpan delivered a welcoming and grateful speech. More than 100 students and professors took an active part in the discussion and received answers to their questions.
In addition to the main lecture, a tour of the new building of the Constitutional Court was organized for the guests and a general photographing took place.
