Scientists of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU took part in a major scientific forum in Kazan

On December 16, 2021, an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Human rights between universalism and regionalism (on the 55th anniversary of the International Covenants on Human Rights and the 60th anniversary of the European Social Charter)" was held, organized by the Faculty of Law of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The conference was attended by more than a hundred well-known scientists representing leading universities in several countries of the world: Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Germany, etc., members of the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union, members of parliaments, judges, practicing lawyers, as well as young scientists.

The conference was held in three sections: "International Covenants on Human Rights: challenges of our time", "European Social Charter: problems and practice of application", "Human rights: the view of the young".

The conference participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law of KFU, Doctor of Law, Professor L.T. Bakulina, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan S.H. Saburskaya, Head of the Department of International and European Law of KFU, Doctor of Law, Professor A.I. Abdullin and Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law of KFU, Doctor of Law, Professor R.S. Davletgildeev.

At the plenary session of the conference, such recognized scientists in the field of international law as Doctor of Law, Professor, Scientific Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Association of International Law A.Y. Kapustin, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of International Law of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Vice-Chairman of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights A.H. Abashidze, Doctor of Law, Professor A.S. Ispolinov, Visiting Professor at the University of Girona (Spain), Honorary President of the International Society of Labor Law and Social Security, former Director of the International Labor Office (ILO) Jean-Michel Servais, Doctor of Law, Professor, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia A.A. Danelyan, judge of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union D.G. Kolos, judge of the European Court of Human Rights L. Huseynov.

Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law of L.N. Gumilyov ENU E.M. Abaydeldinov opened the work of the 1st section, making a report "Implementation of the norms of International Covenants on Human Rights in the legislation of Kazakhstan", Head of the Department of International Law of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Doctor of Law, Professor Sh.V. Tlepina devoted her speech to the topic "Ideas of human rights in the history of international law".

Scientists from Kazan Federal University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, RUDN, Kutafin Moscow State University, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Saratov State Law Academy, Ural State Law University, Batumi State University (Georgia), Baku State University (Azerbaijan), the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, other universities, research and other organizations made detailed reports.

At the scientific forum, a fruitful exchange of views took place on a number of topical issues of the current state and trends in the development of international law at the global, regional and domestic levels. The event served to strengthen scientific cooperation and creative relationships of international scientists.
