April 27, 2019 in the Kazakh State Law University held the annual Republican subject Olympiad in international law.
The Olympiad is held in 2 stages:
1) the first stage - intra-university;
2) the second stage - in basic universities;
According to the results of the first stage of the Olympiad (internal university), the commission of the university on a competitive basis selects and sends the university students to the base universities to participate in the second stage of the competition
The second stage of the Olympiad is held in one round in the state, Russian and English languages. Each participant must pass the competition in his personal capacity.
Competitive round - the decision of situational tests. The tour consists of two blocks: “Public international law” and “Private international law”.
The number of situational tasks in each block is 20. From the bottom 7 in the Kazakh language, 8 in English and 7 in Russian. The execution of one situational task in time is 5 minutes. The tasks also cover such areas of international public law as International Human Rights Law, the Law of International Treaties, and International Trade Law.
Situational task is a case. Each task is offered 3 (three) questions of varying complexity: the first degree - the basic level of complexity, the second degree - the average complexity, the third - the increased complexity. Each question is offered 4 (four) answer options. The correct answer to the question of the first degree of difficulty is estimated at 2 points, to the question of the second degree of difficulty - 4 points, to the question of the third degree of difficulty - 6 points. A student needs to choose only one answer. If a student marks two or more answer choices, the decision is automatically considered incorrect.
According to the results of the Olympiad, students of the Department of International Law of the Eurasian National University showed excellent:
1st place - Kabieva Aida 4 course; 2nd place - Symbat Rashid 3 course; 3 place - Tlegenova Ulzhan
3 place- Filatov Eugene.
Certificates were also presented to the team coaches:: Abayeva Kh.A., Kulikpaeva M.Zh., Karazhanu B.S., Shangirbaeva B.Yu., Iskakova Zh.T., Salykova D.O.
