Student od Departent of International law Alpysbayeva Julia studied in Warsaw

My name is Alpysbayeva Yuliya and I am a second-year master student. On February 8, 2019, the academic semester, which I spent at the University of Warsaw within the framework of academic mobility ended and the first thing I would like to say is that you should never refuse to get educational experience abroad. Although I traveled a lot up to this point, life in a new country for six months, when you still don’t know anyone, completely change your environment, the usual place of study and housing is a completely new level that opens huge prospects not only for study, but also for personal growth. Every new person you meet can teach you something new; inspire you with your ideas and goals. In conditions when you are surrounded by thousands of foreign students who are very interested in learning a different culture, lifestyle and traditions, the level of inspiration is simple rolls over.

So, the first thing that impressed me a lot was how we were met. The University of Warsaw organized Orientation Week, during which we had various meetings, city tours, a trip to Krakow, student parties and evenings like «Share your culture». From the very first days we met new friends not only from other countries, but also from Kazakhstan.

Then, I noted for myself very respectful attitude of lecturers towards students and the absolute freedom of choice in study program, courses, etc. All university staff are open to dialogue and your ideas. The library deserves a special attention because of a huge amount of materials, quick access to information, a convenient service system and a botanical garden on the roof. And the atmosphere of the university is very conducive to study.

In addition to such invaluable experience as studying in a new country and getting to know a huge number of international students, the academic mobility program opens up great opportunities for travel. So, my friends and I visited 15 cities, including Rome, Florence, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Dresden, Berlin; we visited the oldest historical places and got unforgettable impressions, because traveling is what gives us much more experience and knowledge than regular study.

Also, I was very pleased to know how foreign students are aware about Kazakhstan; they know almost all of the latest news, changing of our alphabet, about our traditions and culture. And the event organized in honor of Independence Day of Kazakhstan was special for me.

I am very glad that I became a part of this program and can share this experience with others, so I would like to thank ENU and the Department of International Law for such an excellent opportunity to study on academic mobility. Personally for me, this was a big step in my scientific activity, allowed me to expand my boundaries and opened new perspectives and professional opportunities.

I hope that my impressions will inspire you to try yourself in the mobility program and you will also discover in yourself a lot of new things on the way to further achievements!
