March 18, 2022 with a guest lecture at the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU was visited by the judge of the Eurasian Economic Union, professor, ex-chairman of the EAEU Court, Baishev Zholymbet Nurakhmetovich. The moderator of the guest lecture was Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law, Abaydeldinov Yerbol Musinovich.
In the framework of the guest lecture, Professor Zh.N. Baishev spoke about the history of creation, competence, procedure for electing judges of the EAEU Court, and made a comparison with the EU Court. They dwelled in more detail on the issue of the law of the EAEU, its supranationality and application in the member countries of the EAEU, as well as on the priority of decisions of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The audience of the lecture was the 2nd year students of the specialty "International Law" and students from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, who came to ENU in the framework of academic mobility.
The lecture aroused great interest. It analyzed a lot of material on the work of international courts, raised issues of the hierarchy of law, and much more.
In conclusion, Judge Zh.N. Baishev was presented with three scientific publications of the Department of International Law as a sign of gratitude. In turn, Professor Baishev Zh.N. presented the ENU Department of International Law with a gold medal in honor of the 5th anniversary of the EAEU. The guest lecture ended with congratulations on the upcoming Nauryz holiday and joint photography.
