A JOINT SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR WAS HELD ON THE TOPIC "METHODS OF USING CASE STUDIES IN TEACHING INTERNATIONAL LAW"

On April 26, 2022, a joint scientific and methodological seminar of the Department of International and European Law of Kazan Federal University (KFU) and the Department of International Law of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (ENU) was held on the Microsoft Teams platform on the topic "Methods of using case studies in teaching international Law".

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Department of International and European Law of Kazan Federal University: Doctor of Law, Professor Tyurina N.E. "Case study in teaching private international law", Doctor of Law, Professor Davletgildeev R.S. "Using the case study method in teaching the discipline "International labor protection rights", Doctor of Law, Professor Shaikhutdinova G.R. "Modeling method in teaching human rights disciplines".

Representatives of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University also made presentations: Candidate of Law, Acting Associate Professor Sarsenov S.N. "Case method as an interactive teaching technology in the discipline "Protection of human rights in international law", doctoral student Karazhan B.S. "The experience of using the case study method in teaching international law: understanding the essence and purpose of the case study method, developing your own cases, the main difficulties", doctoral student, senior researcher at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kostyanaya Yu.S. "Using the case study method in teaching diplomatic law, international humanitarian law".

Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, E.M. Abaydeldinov, in his speech noted that in the learning process, for the qualitative assimilation of the material, understanding of the interaction of international and national law, it is always necessary to analyze specific situations, and gave an example from the practice of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which considered in 2001. Submission of the Kyzylorda Regional Court on the recognition of unconstitutional part two of paragraph 6.12 of Article 6 of the Lease Agreement of the Baikonur complex, articles 5 and 11 of the Agreement on Cooperation of Law Enforcement Agencies in Ensuring Law and Order on the territory of the Baikonur complex (May 7, 2001).

The seminar considered the advantages and features of the case method compared to traditional teaching methods, discussed the use of case studies in teaching various disciplines, the speakers shared with the audience their experience of using case technologies as one of the most effective teaching methods.
