Lecturers of International Law Department Participated in USAID Water and Environment Training

September 13-14, 2022 Doctors of Philosophy of the Department of International Law, Senior Lecturer Akshalova R.D. and Lecturer Zhunusbekova A.Zh. participated in the training of the USAID Regional Project on Water and Environment Project.

The training covered issues of water diplomacy, ensuring water security, the water-energy-food Nexus, examples of transboundary cooperation in water management on the Nile, Tigris, Euphrates, Mekong rivers were given, and the evolution and basic principles of international water law, international legal regulation of transboundary water cooperation.

 

In addition to providing theoretical material, there was also a “Water Lego” Game, in which participants identified goals and alternative options for cross-border cooperation.
