On November 8, 2023, teachers of the Department of International Law E.Ch. Murzagaliev and A.A. Oinarova took part in the round table “Current issues of teaching international humanitarian law (IHL) in Kazakhstan”, organized by the ICRC Mission in Kazakhstan. Head of mission S.T. Sagymbaev opened the round table and spoke about the activities of the ICRC Mission in Kazakhstan. Professor A.L. Kozik, ICRC Regional Legal Coordinator also participated at the event.
At the round table, participants shared their experience of teaching international humanitarian law in universities, so candidate of legal sciences, deputy dean for scientific work of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University N.S. Tursumbaeva spoke about the experience of teaching IHL in Kyrgyzstan; PhD, head of the educational program “International Law” A. Abylayuly shared his experience of teaching IHL at Maqsut Narikbayev University; PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of International Law A.A. Oinarova told about the experience of teaching IHL at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University; Ph.D., senior lecturer of the Department of International Law D.V. Tatarin shared about teaching IHL at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; M. Aminov, legal adviser of the ICRC in Uzbekistan, spoke about the teaching of IHL in Uzbekistan.
