On April 4, 2023, within the framework of the X International Scientific and Practical School on International Law on the topic: "Actual Problems of Theory, Practice and Teaching of International Law", the Chairman of the Arbitration of the city of Almaty and the Arbitration Court of the city of Almaty - Zeyilbek Sabit Rysaluly spoke.
The audience was presented with a report on the topic: "Arbitration in Kazakhstan."
The lecturer dwelled in great detail on procedural issues in conducting arbitration proceedings as an alternative way to resolve disputes. In particular, Zeyilbek Sabit Rysaluly revealed the advantages of arbitration proceedings, in comparison with the national judicial system for considering civil disputes, in particular
- decisions of international arbitration are recognized more in the countries of the world;
- arbitration proceedings are carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rules of the Arbitration Court;
- the decisions of the arbitration court are final and are not subject to appeal on the merits of the dispute.
- in arbitration, commercial secrecy is ensured, where, without the consent of the parties, arbitration is not entitled to disclose information constituting a commercial secret;
- the time and place of arbitration, the number of arbitrators is determined by the parties.
Particular attention was paid to the definition of the jurisdiction of arbitration, the applicable law when considering cases in arbitration, the significance of arbitration agreements and arbitration clauses in the arbitration process. The speech of the chairman of the arbitration of the city of Almaty and the Arbitration Court of the city of Almaty - Zeyilbek S. R. aroused keen interest on the part of the teaching staff and grew into a lively discussion.
