On December 09, 2021, an open practical lesson was held by A.B. Bekmagambetov, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of L.N. Gumilyov, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the discipline «Court and Justice» on the topic «Democratic principles of justice» (equality before the law, publicity of court proceedings, independence of judges, language of legal proceedings) in the group YR-22.
Students of the YR-22 group conducted two interconnected game trials to consider a civil and criminal case on determining the place of residence of a child, as well as on preparations for murder for hire by one of the parents of this child with demonstration of videos, presentations on the plot and, in general, on the topic of democratic principles and modern trends in judicial and legal reform in the light of the Messages of the Head of State, the Concept of Legal Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, the Seven Stones of Justice program.
During the business game, students demonstrated the knowledge gained during lectures, as well as the skills of interpreting the norms of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the constitutional law «On the judicial system and the status of judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan» of substantive (Family, Civil, Criminal codes) and procedural law (Civil procedural and Of the Criminal Procedure Codes).
The court proceedings were based on an analysis of the real situation presented in the TV show «Case of Special Importance» posted on the website of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the lesson, the results were summed up, those present expressed an opinion on the quality of the practical lesson, and gave methodological recommendations for improvement.
