On May 19, 2022 an online conference was held on the occasion of the birthday of the Eurasian National University. On the initiative and organization of the Associate Professor of the Department of International Law, PhD B.Yu. Shangirbayeva, an online lecture was held by Human Rights Officer Vrezh Atabekyan (United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Geneva, Switzerland). The theme of the lecture is “The UN Human Rights System and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights”. The lecture was attended by undergraduate and graduate students and members of the Department of International Law. The lecture discussed the activities of the UN, the role of the High Commissioner, as well as national human rights programs. Students actively participated in the discussion and asked questions. As a result of this event, commemorative photographs were taken. The participants of the meeting thanked the Human Rights Officer Vrezh Atabekyan and expressed their hope for future meetings.
