On April 27, 2023, the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines, with the participation of the teaching staff, as well as students of the 3rd year of the educational program "Judicial-prosecutorial and investigative-criminalistic activities", held a scientific seminar on the topic: "Modern trends in the development of criminal legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan". The main report at the scientific seminar was made by Doctor of Law, Professor Baltabaev K.Zh. In his introduction, Doctor of Law, Professor Baltabaev K.Zh. touched upon the current problems of the development of criminal legislation and criminal law science at the present stage. At a high scientific level, the provisions of the concept of development of the draft of the current Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, formed at the stage of its approval, criminal law institutions of punishment and other measures of criminal legal impact were analyzed, the problems of classification of criminal offenses and categorization of crimes in the Criminal Code of 2014 were considered. The scientific seminar aroused active interest on the part of students and teaching staff of the Department of UPD. After the report was completed, dr. yu.n., Professor K.Zh. Baltabaev answered numerous questions from the audience and highlighted the main scientific approaches, both from domestic and foreign scientists regarding the further development of the main institutions of modern criminal legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
