SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "HUMAN RIGHTS AND FAIR JUSTICE: MODERN HORIZONS OF VISION"

December 7, 2018, Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Law, Doctor of Law. Nurmagambetov A.M. and Associate Professor Ph.D. Berdiyarova Z.S. took part in the international scientific-practical conference "Human Rights and Fair Justice: modern horizons of vision", which was held by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the British Embassy in Astana, the Ebert Foundation and the PRI Office in Central Asia The event was timed to the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The conference was attended by representatives of the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Council, Parliament, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Commission on Human Rights under the President, interested state bodies, leading universities of the country and human rights defenders.During the two sessions, the conference participants discussed topical issues in the field of human rights and fair justice.Opening the event, the Rector of the Academy of Justice, Tolesh Kaudyrov, called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the most important document of the twentieth century. He recalled that Kazakhstan, being a member of the United Nations since 1992, reaffirms its adherence to universal values and standards proclaimed in the document.

The conference was also addressed by the judge of the Supreme Court B.Zhumagulov, vice-rector and director of the Institute of the Academy of Justice N.Razak and E.Abdrasulov, chief editor of the Kazakh State Law University “Law and State” S.Udartsev, professor of the ENU. L. Gumilev K. Baltabaev and M. Sarsembaev, head of the National Center for Human Rights S. Ospanov, who in their speeches covered aspects of human rights, the biy court, the rule of law and the law, public trust.
