One step closer to Ph.D. thesis defense

On June 12, 2020, a comprehensive exam was held at the Department of International Law as part of the final state examination for the 6D030200-“International Law” specialty. The exam was held orally in Kazakh and Russian languages, and included questions on international public and private law.

Delivering the exam remotely using Microsoft Teams is this year’s innovation. New technologies allow preserving the traditionality of the exam and ensuring academic integrity. Thus, an exam paper number is randomly generated by a software, the contents of an exam paper are shared on the screen, and the entire exam is recorded.

Ph.D. candidates have demonstrated a high level of training, as well as wide and detailed knowledge of international public and private law. The comprehensive exam comes off as another important step on their way to obtaining a doctoral degree in international law.

The State Certification Commission, chaired by the Head of the Office of International Legal Issues at the International Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Law Kantarbekova A.M., including members Doctor of Law, Professor of Department of International Law at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Abaideldinov E.M.; Doctor of Law, Professor of Department of International Law at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Tlepina Sh.V.; Ph.D., Associate Professor of Department of International Law at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Kala N.S., has also successfully completed its session.
