A scientific seminar on the topic "Methodology of scientific research: problems and prospects" was held at the Department of International Law

June 14, 2022, at the Department of International Law, together with the International Law Firm FOXEN law offices (Vilnius, Lithuania, St. Petersburg) and the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) held a scientific seminar on the topic "Methodology of scientific research: problems and prospects". It was attended by the teaching staff, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University.

The moderator of the meeting was Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law Abaydeldinov Erbol Musinovich.

The speakers of the seminar were:

Didikin Anton Borisovich, Doctor of Philosophy, Candidate of Law, Professor of the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) with a report on "Linguocentrism in jurisprudence and its prospects for the methodology of scientific research of law";

Konstantin I. Ivanov, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor and Practicing Lawyer, CIS Law Advisor at FOXEN law offices International Law Firm (Vilnius, Lithuania, St. Petersburg, Russia), participant of the Erasmus+ project with a report on: "Research on the topics of international private, commercial and arbitration law in modern science. Comparative Law";

Sarsembayev Marat Aldangorovich, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) with a report on the topic: "Improving the management of dissertants in the process of their work on the dissertation and on the eve of their defense."

The seminar participants showed great interest and took an active part in the discussion of the reports.

The work of the seminar was summed up by the head of the Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Doctor of Law, Professor, Tlepina Sholpan Valeryevna, making a report on the topic: "Some issues of methodology of scientific research".

The Department of International Law will continue to work on teaching students scientific vocabulary, scientific speech and scientific writing, the art of scientific discussion, scientific review – in general, on the formation of the academic scientific culture of the author. The Department plans to continue its work in accordance with the Recommendations on the Status of Research (1974), the Declaration on Science and the Use of Scientific Knowledge (1999), the World Commission on Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST).
