On may 15, 2020, as part of the scientific project "Terrorism as a threat to national security: improving criminal policy in the system of counteraction of the Republic of Kazakhstan", an international round table "Features of obtaining criminally relevant information in the investigation of terrorist acts"was held online on the Microsoft Teams platform at The Department of criminal law of the faculty of law of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU together with the Department of criminal law, criminal procedure and criminalistics of the RUDN law Institute (Russia).

During the discussion of topical issues on countering terrorism, reports were made by doctor of law, Professor Skakov A. B., doctor of law, Professor Bertovsky L. V., doctor of law, Professor Chistyakov A. A., doctor of PhD Amirgaliev A. A.

Professor L. A. Bukalerova, doctor of law, made a welcoming speech and noted the importance and necessity of considering topical issues of counter-terrorism in the framework of research, shared with the statistical data on the Commission of terrorist acts and revealed the criminal legal mechanisms for regulating public relations in the field of counter-terrorism as a social and legal phenomenon, based on the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation.
Report on th.N., Professor skakova A. B. "peculiarities of execution of imprisonment of persons convicted of crimes of extremist and terrorist orientation" was devoted to the improvement of penal policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan based on the study of international practice and law enforcement practice in Kazakhstan, which aroused great interest among Russian scholars who also focused on the legal mechanisms regulating public relations in the sphere of Executive production, highlighting the existing problems in Russia and in Kazakhstan.
In the report of doctor of law, Professor Bertovsky L. V. "Features of obtaining criminally relevant information in cases of terrorism", criminalistic methods of obtaining information were disclosed on the basis of disclosure of the tactical content of procedural means of evidence that ensure the establishment of the role of each of the participants in criminal activity; the speaker focused on the development of tactical tools aimed at providing subjects of proof by using knowledge about the true canons of Islam and Christianity, which will ensure their effective use in the process of understanding in proving, in preventive activities in the system of countering terrorism.
During the discussion, B. R. Sembekova spoke, who noted the innovative approach of doctor of law, Professor L. V. bertovsky. to develop tactical tools for obtaining reliable, complete and objective information in the disclosure, investigation and prevention of criminal offenses of a terrorist nature, since the study of the provisions of the Koran, the Bible and their use in the production of verbal means of obtaining information from participants in criminal activities of a terrorist nature will help to establish psychological contact and obtain the necessary information base in the course of search and cognitive activities of subjects of proof.
The report of doctor of law, Professor A. A. Chistyakov "Terrorism as the highest manifestation of extremism" is devoted to the issues of disclosure of terrorism and extremism in the ratio, which also caused controversy and discussion among the participants of the round table. Attention is focused on the criminal-legal classification of criminal offenses of terrorist orientation and extremist, which can not be combined into a single classification basis for incentive-regulatory mechanisms, a different position is taken by doctor of law, Professor Skakov A. B.
During the discussion, B. R. Sembekova spoke, who also believes that there is no need to combine criminal offenses of a terrorist and extremist nature into one classification basis, since the study of the motivation of these categories of cases is due to a certain orientation, the criminal legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan reflects specific motives for committing them.
Interesting was the report of PhD Amirgaliev A. A., which revealed the content of counterintelligence activities in relation to operational search, referring to the law, highlighted all the pressing issues of practice, problems of law enforcement.
