On October 29, 2022, the Department of International Law together with the school-Lyceum No. 53 named after Baurzhan Momyshuly held a debate tournament among secondary schools in Astana on the topic: "Does Kazakhstan need a nuclear power plant?". The debate tournament opens a series of events within the framework of the I Eurasian Congress on International Law on the topic: "Modern Challenges of International Law", which will be held from October 29 to November 10, 2022. The debate tournament was opened by the teacher of history, law and economics, the head of the debate club "Oyshyl", Yerbol Yermakhanovich Aliyev. The Altynai dance Ensemble brightened up the debate tournament with its performance.
The Department of International Law was represented by the Head of the Department of International Law, Doctor of Law, Professor, Tlepina Sholpan Valeryevna, who made a welcoming speech, PhD, Senior lecturer, Akshalova R.D., Master of International Law, lecturer, Karazan B.S., President of the club "International lawyer's club", 3rd year student specialty "International Law", holder of Altyn belgi and winner of the Presidential Scholarship – Daniyar Ademi, Mukhtarkyzy, 4th year student of the specialty "International law", debater of the recreation center "Parasat", Koptleuova Asemay.
32 teams from 15 schools took part in the debate:

3) Lyceum school No. 37 named after Syrbai Maulenov;
4) Lyceum school No. 83 named after Ybyray Altynsarin;

9) lyceum school No. 64;
10) lyceum school No. 72;
11) secondary school No. 57;
12) gymnasium school No. 63;

14) Binom Lyceum school named after Akhmet Baitursynov
15) high school No. 74 named after Mukagali Mukatayev.
During the breaks between the tours, the teacher of the department responsible for career guidance, B.S. Karazan, held an agitation lecture on attracting schoolchildren to participate in the ENU Open Day on November 3, 2022 and admission to the specialty "International Law".
The debates were held in the official language in the British parliamentary format. According to the results of the tournament, the following prize-winners and winners were identified. According to the results of two rounds, 8 teams reached the final, which were divided into 2 audiences of 4 teams.
In the 307 audience , the winners were:
1st place – Saryarka faction, Binom school named after A. Baytursynov. Coach – Gulmira Musayeva;
2nd place – the "Dat 1– faction, gymnasium No. 74 named after M. Mukatayev. Coach – Abdirov Orken;
3rd place - "Kazakh" faction, lyceum school No. 38. Coach – Akman Shyraylym
4th place - "Urpak 1" faction, Lyceum school No. 37 named after Syrbai Maulenov.
In the 308 audience , the winners were:
1st place – Akikat 63 faction, gymnasium school No. 63. Coach – Sugirbayev Akezhan;
2nd place – Zheti Zhargy faction, lyceum school No. 83 named after Y. Altynsarina. Coach – Kalkabai Aisulu;
3rd place – Akikat 64 faction, lyceum school No. 64. Coach - Dina Beknazarova;
4th place - Astort faction, B. Momyshuly Lyceum school No. 53.
Diplomas of the "Best speaker" were received:
1) Aybin Ayan from the Kuryltai faction;
2) Alpysbay Zhanar from the "Shantimes" faction;
3) Kadir Diana from the "Shantimes" faction;
4) Akhtai Asylai from the Katsu faction;
5) Almukhambetova Aruana from the Akikat 38 faction;
6) Balkybek Islam from the "Premium Class" faction.
Diplomas "The best judge" received:
1) Yerkinbek Aidan;
2) Aldibek Arailym;
3) Ghazizova Ghaziza.
All winners received memorable prizes from L.N. Gumilev ENU. The library fund of the Baurzhan Momyshuly Lyceum School No. 53 received 2 books from the Department of International Law.
According to the results of the judges' scoring, the L.N.Gumilyov ENU cup was won by the Saryarka faction from BINOM school named after A. Baitursynov.
