On November 6, 2023, a senior lecturer at the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines, PhD Kalmaganbetova D.B. held a curatorial hour on the topic “Countering domestic violence in the Republic of Kazakhstan: a socio-legal aspect". During the curatorial hour, first-year students of the OP “Judicial, prosecutorial, investigative and criminalistic activities” were aware of the concept, essence and consequences of domestic violence in social and legal aspects. Currently, domestic violence is one of the most acute and widespread social problems. Domestic violence is directly related not only to the destruction of family relationships, but in general to the loss of family foundations and moral values. As a result of domestic violence, family members become victims of beatings, bullying and insults, which increases the number of dysfunctional families, leads to divorce, deprivation of parental rights, an increase in child crime, suicide, harm to health, and even murder.
