A PhD student of the Department of International Law made a presentation at the International conference at the Kutafin Moscow State Law University.

February 26, 2019 the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafina hosted the I International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists "Actual Issues of International Law: Public, Private and Integration Aspects." A PhD student of the 2nd course of the Department of International Law Akshalova Roza took the participation in it and delivered the report.

The plenary session of the conference was conducted by the Director of the International Law Institute of the Kutafin MSAL, Ph.D., associate professor, Kuvyrchenkov Nikolay Sergeevich and deputy director of the International Law Institute of the Kutafin MSAL, Doctor of Law, Professor, Oksana V. Lutkova. The conference was held in three sections:

1. International treaties and cross-border contracts: current state and development trends;

2. Interstate and transboundary disputes: modern resolution mechanisms;

3. International legal science: interdisciplinary aspects.

 PhD student Akshalova R. spoke in the second section “Interstate and transboundary disputes: modern resolution mechanisms”. The jury of the section includes the faculty of the International Law Institute: PhD, Associate Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Private International Law, YA Alimova, PhD, Associate Professor, BA Shakhnazarov, PhD, Associate Professor N.N. Viktorova.

Her presentation on “Some aspects of the impact of WTO dispute resolution on renewable energy support on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals” raised many questions about the specifics of the World Trade Organization’s disputes regarding renewable energy sources, as well as on the effectiveness of the Paris Agreement on climate change 2015.

Presentation of Akshalova R. was noted as one of the best reports. In turn, the PhD student Akshalova R. expresses gratitude to the leadership of the International Law Institute of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University a for organizing a scientific conference and the opportunity to take part in it.
