From January to December 2021 Associate Professor of International Law Department of Gumilyov ENU, Dr Beibit Shangirbayeva was a visiting scholar at the Melikian Center of Arizona State University. ASU is one of the best universities of the United States (top 50) and ranked as 132nd according to the Times Higher Education. The experience was unique in terms of opportunity to be a part of global community of scientists who are inspired and professionals in chosen fields. The research stay of Dr Beibit Shangirbayeva was supported by assistance of a bachelor student Ms Sofia Walsh. Dr Shangirbayeva conducted seminars, delivered open lectures, studied the materials from a splendid library of ASU, followed courses on academic writing and methodology of doing research in social sciences. It was also a great opportunity to visit University of Harvard and Harvard Law School, Stanford and Columbia Universities, MIT, New York School of Law, Library of Congress.
