                     PROTECTION OF COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS ON THE INTERNET: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

     Of great importance for scientists are issues related to the protection of copyright and related rights, since scientists daily create copyright objects in their scientific activities, primarily scientific works.
     Scientists of the Faculty of Law of ENU. L.N. Gumilyov regularly take part in various events dedicated to the protection of copyright and related rights, as well as the protection of intellectual property rights.
     So, for example, on October 16-17, 2019, an international subregional seminar was held in Nur-Sultan on the topic: “Protection of copyright and related rights on the Internet: problems and prospects”.
    Of greatest interest to the seminar was a presentation by Thomas Dillon, Legal Advisor, Strategic Assistance and Awareness Raising, Respect for Intellectual Property. World Affairs Sector, WIPO, Geneva. Matthias Schmid-Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of Germany and a number of others also spoke.
    Representatives from ENU. L.N. Gumileva in this international seminar was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Ibragimov Zh.I., Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law, Ph.D., Baimoldina S.M.
    At this seminar, in the form of a discussion, they discussed topical issues of protecting copyright and related rights, following the results of the seminar, participants exchanged views and made suggestions for improving measures aimed at preventing violations of copyright and related rights.
