On April 6, 2018, at 10.00 am, an open session of the Constitutional Council was held, attended by first-year students of the Faculty of Law, the specialty "Jurisprudence" and "International Law" of the Eurasian National University named after LN Gumilev, the following students: Musataeva AD, Kabenova AK, Kireeva AB, Geldt NV, Dairabai DG This meeting was to consider the submission of the Specialized Inter-District Court for the Affairs of Minors of the Karaganda Region on the recognition of article 47, paragraph 5, of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Marriage (Marital) and Family" as unconstitutional. According to the court, this rule of the Code violated the principle of equality of all before the law and the court and is inconsistent with the requirements of Article 27 of the Constitution, according to which motherhood and childhood are protected by the state. In the constitutional proceedings of the Constitutional Council of the RK, the issue of social protection of motherhood and childhood was considered.
