MASTER STUDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL LAW HELD AN OPEN SEMINAR

In the framework of pedagogical practice, on November 19, 2019, an open seminar was held by Sabina Bukharbayeva, a 2-year master student of the specialty “International Law” of the Faculty of Law, under the direction of Tlepina Sholpan Valeriyevna, with 3-year students of the specialty “International Relations”. The topic of the seminar was “International Air Law” of the discipline “International Law”.

The event was attended by teachers, undergraduates, students of the department of international law.

The objectives of the seminar were:

• to consolidate the concept of international air law (IAL), its system, principles and sources;

• to study of commercial air freedoms;

• to review the aircraft status, responsibility in international law, and the status and activities of ICAO.

 

Bukharbayeva Sabina used various methods in the formation of the seminar. At the beginning of the lesson, students were asked to complete individual tasks on the cards, an oral survey of students was conducted to test the understanding and knowledges on the topic of the seminar.

The next method was a case-study, in which students had to solve the proposed problems, for example, about launching Germany's balloons with anti-government leaflets to the Czechoslovakia. After that, a debate was held in the group on the classification of the Annexes to the Chicago Convention adopted by ICAO into acts of an international organization or parts of an international treaty.

The next task of the seminar was to rank aviation flights as international / domestic flights and international / domestic conveyance. At the end of the seminar conclusions on the topic of lesson were summed up.
