OPEN LESSON OF A MASTER STUDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL LAW

In the framework of pedagogical practice, on November 18, 2019, an open lecture was held by Sabina Bukharbayeva, a 2-year master student of the specialty “International Law” of the Faculty of Law, under the direction of Tlepina Sholpan Valeriyevna, with 3-year students of the specialty “International Relations”. The topic of the lecture was “International Air Law” of the discipline “International Law”.

The event was attended by teachers, undergraduates, students of the department of international law.

 

The objectives of the lecture were:

•to familiarize students with the concept of international air law (IAL), its system, principles and sources;

• to study the commercial air freedoms;

• to review the aircraft status, responsibility in international law, and the status and activities of ICAO.

 

It is worth noting that the audience was especially interested in the issue of international customs in the IAL, the status of international aviation regulations, as well as the simplification of formalities within the ICAO.

To consolidate the lecture material, students were asked to solve the problem of an Iranian passenger plane downed by US in 1988. In addition, a mini- quiz with students was conducted, as well as a discussion on the topic of the lecture. Based on the results of the open lecture, during a lively discussion, topical issues of international air law were touched upon, conclusions on the topic of the lecture were drawn, recommendations on the methodology for solving tasks were also given.
