Moot-Сourt, AIFC «Аstana»

Participation in the Moot-Сourt, held by the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC).

 

 

On October 30, 2019 the AIFC organized and held an international student competition based on the English practice of common law.

The Moot-Сourt is a business game, a court model, for which students will prepare written arguments from the plaintiff and defendant and present their positions during the oral rounds.

 The team consists of five Kazakhstan universities: KAZGUU named after M.S. Narikbayev, KIMEP University, Narhoz University, Caspian University and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

Team from ENU was represented by students of the specialty “International Law”  Asel Toganbayeva, Taukebay Olzhas, Yevgeniya Filatova.

The trainer who prepared the team of ENU was Iskakova Zh.T, appointed Master of Law, senior lecturer of the Department of International Law.

Each team took the participation in 2 trials, where they represented the interests of both parties: the plaintiff and the defendant.

The final of the competition was judged by AIFC judges Robin Jacob and Stephen Richards.

 

 

At the end of the Moot-Court, Assistant Registrar of the Court of AIFC  Almat Igenbayev  presented to the participants of the ENU team  letters of invitation for an internship in the AIFC Court.

When presenting invitations, Almat Igenbaev noted deep knowledges at the case studies, the ability to correctly compose legal documents in English by students of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov.
