The youth forum “Actual problems of Eurasian security”,

The youth forum “Actual problems of Eurasian security”, organized by the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) Secretariat and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia was held in Belgrade, capital of Republic of Serbia on October 18-21. In this forum participated more than 70 representatives of 19 higher education institutions of the CSTO member states.

CSTO General Secretary Yuri Khachaturov and Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin took part in the solemn opening ceremony. Mr.Yuri Khachaturov underlined in his speech the importance of hosting the conference in one of the key regions of Eurasia - the Balkans. It is worth mentioning that Serbia has an observer status since. He has also anew confirmed the basic principles of the CSTO, such as respect of sovereignty, non-interference to internal affairs of the state and maintaining territorial integrity. Mr. Khachaturov had told about work of the organization, its collective rapid reaction forces, the peaceful relations with the UN and OSCE and also about drills staged in territories of the countries of the CSTO. For example, strategic military exercises «The Indestructible Brotherhood 2017» were staged on October 16-20 in Kazakhstan territory, Iliskyi polygon.

Experts, professors and students - representatives of various areas made speeches during the first two days of the forum, they have presented to participants of a forum current problems, ways of their decision, tasks and also the theories on ensuring the Eurasian safety. Sport and cultural programs were also organized for the students, participating in the forum (students of the Serbian state university, Academy of national security, cadets and listeners of Military academy also have joined them)

From the Republic of Kazakhstan students of the Euroasian national university of L.N. Gumilev - Casanova Laura who participated in wreath-laying to a monument to liberators of Belgrade and a military parade of forces of Serbia "the Settlement – 2017", Kadralin Zhaslan and Nurasyl Kamshat (law department), Temirov Anuar which has submitted the report on fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic substances within the CSTO, and Baygozhina Aytkul (faculty of the international relations) have participated in a youth forum. Also, the associate professor of Criminal Law disciplines department Muratkhanova Meruert Beysenovna made a report on ways of counteraction to distribution of extremist ideology at this forum.

It should be noted that in 2014, in the framework of the 5th Youth Eurasian Economic Forum the representatives of the higher education institutions of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan signed a Memorandum on the establishment of the CSTO University League. The main goal of the League is a co-ordination of actions on scientific-methodological and intellectual ensuring of multilateral security of Eurasian region in the areas of food, power, information, legal, financial, raw safety and also safety in the sphere of culture and philosophy of human life.
