20-25 November 2017, the Department of International Law of the Law Faculty organizes the scientific - practical school named «Actual Problems of the Theory and Practice of International Law».
On the 22nd of November at 19:30 in the classroom № 324 of the main building of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU the Head of the Department of International Legislation and Comparative Law of the Institute of Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, doctor Abay Abylayuly has reported on the theme: «The place and role of scientific legal expertise of draft international treaties in the development of international law science». The lecture was attended by bachelor and master degree students majoring in International Law, students - representatives of the History of International Law scientific club.
On the 23rd of November at 19:00, Ms. Venera Konussova the Head of the Department of International Legislation and Comparative Law of the Institute of Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan will deliver a report «The Role of the Institute of Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Lawmaking Process».
On the 24th of November at 19:00 – Ms. Shangirbayeva Bebit Yunisovna, the Representative of the European Council in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The theme of her report is the «Practice of the UN Committee on Human Rights in relation to the Republic of Kazakhstan».
On the 25th of November at 11:00, Mr. Bert Maan - judge of the Court of Appeal (in retirement) and the Chairman of the court (in retirement) will speak in the framework of the scientific - practical school’s theme. Bert Maan worked in the Dutch judiciary in various positions during his long career. As a judge of a district court working in various disciplines (family, civil, commercial, bankruptcy), he became a Vice-President of the court in Breda, and then the President of the Zwolle-Lelystad court.
Traditionally, the scientific and practical school is conducted by the Department of International Law starting from 2013, lawyers-practitioners in the sphere of International Public Law, Private International Law, Civil and Criminal Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other areas of legal science take part in the event.
